Blueberry Hill Part Two

So today my foster mom took me to go meet Aunt Jenn, Jackson & Molly at Blueberry Hill which is a big deal cause its the first time I got to go with other dogs (sort of...I went once with too many and I didn't behave very well lol) but today I was a perfect angel!

We went and I was so well behaved when meeting them both, when walking side by side with them, and even when Good Golly Miss Molly was nipping at my face...I didn't even react! We walked for about 90 minutes and I had to keep lying down because I was so pooped. But I gotta saw I had THE BEST TIME EVER!~

Here's a pic of me with Jackson & Molly:

Then after I got home and hung out in the backyard with my foster sister, Savannah, sunbathing. It was such a beautiful day today and I enjoyed it thoroughly!!!

Thanks Foster Mommy! <3

Blueberry Hill

So I took Rio over to Blueberry Hill today to walk the trails etc. He had so much fun!!! He is always on a 4 ft. leash but since we went by ourselves and no one else was there I brought a retractable leash with us so he could sniff around and run ahead of me a little bit. WOW. He had so much fun! He got to sniff everything, run around, he stayed real close anyway but had some extra give on the leash. A guy was walking back there and Rio even stopped to say hi and let the man pet him on his way out.

The first picture is us on the trails at Blueberry Hill and the next one is him after we got home, he is still sleeping now!

He also got a nice morning visit from Azita today and got to play outside and get some love from her this morning! Savannah is at camp today so it's just Rio & I...

Rio Rio Rio love love love

Rio is doing super fabulous the last few days. I took him and Savannah for a long walk today, angels. They played in the backyard, angels. They fence played with my neighbors two mini pups, angels. Rio is such a great dog and just need s the right people to meet him and see his potential! He only wants to be loved and will then do anything you ask of him. He now sits before even being asked when he gets a treat, or gets his food bowl, or goes to the back door he sits before the door will be opened. And he knows all of these things, I don't have to tell him anymore.

He is fabulous and I hope so much that someone will recognize how special he is!!

All these pictures are pf Rio (the chocolate mousse colored pup and my Savannah (the black and white girl) they are doing so well. It took Rio about 2 weeks to settle in & settle down, so if his new family would be patient enough to get through 2 weeks if they have another dog, it is worth every day. If there is no other dog, then he will fit right in.

Rio may never be a "dog park/doggie day care" kind of dog, but that is OK! He doesn't have to be, not all dogs are dog park dogs. He gets a little overwhelmed with so many new dogs he loses his manners so one on ones are good and in a controlled environment would be best. It isn't that he dislikes other dogs, he likes them, he just gets overstimulated with too many at once. As long as people respect that line not getting crossed he is an amazing dog and a great family pet! He loves to go hiking, walking, jogging, and playing in the yard. He absolutely LOVES to chase and catch his somewhat deflated basketball and carry it back to you after you kick it!

He loved getting a bath and was so good for it:

He has made his peace with Bianca, my cat and even sleeps with her at night on the couch now, sans crate!:

He loves Azita, who took him to Petco for me last weekend!:

He is doing amazing and has really blossomed, all he requires is a steady routine, steady exercise and STEADY LOVE & ATTENTION and he will pay you back in spades!!!

Please share this album of photos to anyone you know looking for the dog of their dreams...RIO

Rio, getting better every day

Don't get me wrong, Rio is doing a fabulous job but it has taken him a couple weeks to settle in & settle down but he absolutely has done that. He loves playing with Savannah, occasionally chasing Bianca (but only to play) and playing with his basketball.

The basketball seems to be his favorite thing in the backyard. He loves having "zoomies" around the yard and basically if YOU are outside he will stay out there all day.

He is without a doubt a "people" dog. He loves his people. Anyone that shows Rio love will be tops in his book.

He has graduated from sleeping in the crate to sleeping on the couch and once he lies down with the lights off and knows it is time for bed he stays there all night (except to get a
drink).

I have a lot of videos I have to figure out how to upload because they just have so much fun playing together, I'll get on that so everyone can see what Rio is really like! Please share this blog and album (link below) with anyone you think is interested in adopting my foster boy, Rio!

Thanks!!  They can contact Lilo's Promise Animal Rescue or email Jennifer at lilospromise@live.com or Anita at lilospromise@hotmail.com :)

Petco Day

Rio on his way to Petco

Rio had a great day at the Cherry Hill Petco Adoption Day Event for Lilo's Promise. He was a very good boy. Very chill, relaxed and mellow. What a difference from 2 weeks ago. He just needed a little time to settle in and settle down. He now sits at the door before we go outside and sits before getting any treats and his meals. He is getting better at jumping up on people when meeting them and is doing great playing with Savannah.

He has slept on the couch the past few nights instead of in his crate, and he is doing a fabulous job with it. He wakes me up a little earlier then I'd like but is sleeping through the night.

He is a really good boy and really just needs a home & family of his very own that can give him all the love, attention and exercise that he deserves! He gets all of that here but he could use a little more exercise during the day!

He gets very attached to people that show him love and affection so he would be great with anyone! He is a total love bug!!

Here he is with Azita at Petco...he loves her!!

Rio is a good boy...

So today I came home from "work" very early and let the pups out to play. Its rainy & cold so I knew they wouldn't be out for long. However, I bought them a new tug toy and they decided it was warm enough to play LOL.

They had a BLAST. I had bought Rio a basketball yesterday which popped within 3 minutes, but seems to have reinflated itself :)

So now I am trying to figure out stuff to do to keep them both busy but outside isn't really an option so we'll have to see.

Yesterday I took Rio for his first bath...with me anyway...and he was a perfect angel!

He stayed like a good boy, let me lather him up, wash him off, and then use some conditioner too. He was not a fan of the dryer but most dogs aren't, which is why I brought two towels with me too!

Then we took a ride and between the sun coming the window, his short haired coat and the tushy warmers in the car, he dried off pretty quickly!

He has been so good. He goes into his crate at night, when I leave the house and at nap times with very little issue, he is completely housebroken and eats like a dream. He and Savannah have come to an understanding when playing and he responds to OFF very well. He has made his peace with Bianca and doesn't chase her at all anymore....they even lie on the couch together now.

At any rate, I just wanted to update his good days!

Please share with your friends to find Rio the perfect home to live in and be loved forever!!! <3

Rio is a silly boy...

Yesterday Camp Bow Wow in Cherry Hill held their annual Cupids & Canines event in honor of Valentine's Day. They had about 9 different shelters/rescues attending with adoptable dogs. Rio was one of the Lilo's Promise Animal Rescue Dogs that attended along with Aiden. Here is Rio in the play yard playing with his new favorite toy - The Best Ball - and thanks to our good friend and volunteer for Lilo's Promise, Azita Kay, he has his very own now!

Rio is available for adoption

Meet Rio! I am his foster momma...He is an approximately 2.5-3 year old chocolate pitbull mix and is about 45 lbs. He is good with other dogs, like my resident pitbull Savannah, but needs a proper introduction and some supervision when playing (AS ALL DOGS DO) and is actually very good with my cat, Bianca. He really likes people but when he gets excited he can be a little bit jumpy so slow introductions with children at this time. He thinks he is the size of a chihuahua so he means no harm but is a lot bigger then he thinks LOL...he is pretty good on the leash. When he walks with another dog he pulls a little to stay side by side, but when walking alone he is a loose leash walker. He loves to romp around in the yard but if you are inside and have chores to do he is quite content laying near a window or you, just put a Kong filled with peanut butter in front of him and you may even forget he is there. He does love to chase the vacuum cleaner, though :)

Rio, the distinguished gentleman

I will update Rio's blog daily so people can get to know him better and maybe he will find his forever home through this site~wouldn't that be a dream come true!
