I love company :D

Today Foster Mommy Barb came over with Auntie Azita to Foster Mommy Paula's house. They brought me treats, played with me and gave me LOTS of love...

Then my foster siblings, Killian and Ballet, came down and they got lots of love, and treats, too...

I just love having company. Foster Mommy Barb says I look really good. She said I have put on some weight, my fur is super shiny and I am doing really well on the collar with Foster Mommy Paula. I am very happy here. Everyone can tell. I love my crate and I love Foster Mommy Paula.

But I would still like someone who will adopt me...but it MUST be FOREVER. No more of this part time stuff. I don't like that. I want to be someone's everything forever and ever. I am such a good boy and promise to be such a good boy forever. I really am a total lover. I give the best, longest kisses ever. I love men, I like other dogs if we are introduced properly, I really like kitties as long as they like doggies and I am doing well when meeting kids too. Please consider adopting me for the rest of my life!

Happy 4th of July!

I wanted to wish everyone a happy 4th of July!!!

Also, to all my friends....please make sure that all of your pets are safe and in a secure place tonight  and tomorrow night for the fireworks. Make sure everyone in the house knows to be careful and don't leave your doggies or kitties in the yard unattended or off leash for the next couple of nights. Even if they aren't storm sensitive, fireworks can really be scary to us. We can hear things you humans can't and they can stress us out big time! Please leave the TV or radio on for us pets with some familiar noises. I would hate to hear of any of my furiends gone missing because they got scared. Also...MAKE SURE ALL PETS HAVE COLLARS AND TAGS ON!!!
Happy 4th of July everyone and stay safe!!

Again, to check me out on Facebook, click here!
My foster mommy Paula can tell you anything you want to know about me, so can my former foster mommy Barb.
Also if you are interested in meeting me or filling out an adoption application, please contact Lilo's Promise Animal Rescue.

Happy 4th :D

What a good day!!

So today my former foster mommy and former foster sister came to visit me at my new foster mommy's work! Whew, that sounded confusing. Anyway Mommy Barb brought Savannah up to Mommy Paula's work and I got to see them both! It was great. Savannah was pretty chill but she had just met a few other dogs this morning but she was really happy to see me. See I know her, so I know that she was :)

Mommy Barb was REALLY happy to see me. Mommy Paula is feeding me really good and Mommy Barb even said she can't see my spine anymore so that's a good thing! Mommy Paula is awesome. She told Mommy Barb that she can see me anytime she wants to and Mommy Barb told her she wants me to come to her house too so I can play with Savannah there!

I missed them both and it was great to see them. Mommy Barb and Mommy Paula both want to teach me that NOT everyone will love me and leave me. People DO come back. Just because Mommy Barb says goodbye, doesn't mean that I won't see her again. She promises to keep coming back and wants me to know that I can trust people not to dump me.

I overheard my two Mommies talking about the next time they will get together so I'm pretty stoked!!

Rio is back & needs a home FOREVER

Rio is back again :( He needs to find a responsible person or family that understands what forever means! He is such a keeper and is worth the time and energy for someone to put into him. He is my former foster baby as you can see from this blog and is now in foster care with a good friend of mine and a phenomenal person & phenomenal dog advocate/owner, Paula. He is very loved with her, very well cared for and very happy to be out of the kennel & spolied rotten...going to work with her too, but still needs his own "happily ever after" ending ~ FOREVER.

Rio is a little over 3 years old, neutered, up to date on all shots and preventatives, is microchipped and knows a lot of commands. Paula is doing more and more training with him every day. Him being in Paula's care & tutelage, she will help make him become the best dog he could ever be. She loves him so much, he can't fail with her. Rio is a highly trainable dog if you put in the work. It isn't hard and he is very treat/food motivated. Rio has no food, treat or toy aggression or guarding issues, he loves to play and share toys. He is great with dogs his size WITH A PROPER INTRODUCTION, he may be a little too rambunctious for small children but not all children, he is GREAT with cats but those cats must be dog friendly or at least dog savvy (meaning used to being around them). He loved my pittie, Savannah and he slept with my cat, Bianca every night. He loves to lie in his crate, he is a great snuggler and an even better kisser <3

Please contact Lilo's Promise Animal Rescue for more information or to fill out an application for Rio. It will be so worth your while to meet this beautiful boy.

He also has a new Facebook page courtesy of his wonderful new foster mommy, to view it, please click here.

See some new pictures below. One is my visit with Rio yesterday and one is Paula helping him get ready for the 4th of July!!
Enjoy <3

I'm ready for the 4th now!

I missed you former Foster Mommy!

RIO WAS ADOPTED TODAY !!!

What a very happy day for Rio today. He has been adopted. And so this chapter closes and this is the last blog post for Rio, but it is for a fabulous reason.

Rio has a forever family that LOVES him so very much and he has been reported to not be able to stop giving his new daddy kisses! Good boy Rio, reel 'em in, wrap him around that little paw of yours....

We love you and will miss you very much but we will keep in touch and see you again real soon!

XOXOXO

HOME VISIT DAY!!!

Today Rio has a home visit!!! Which for anyone who doesn't know what that means, it means that someone has already come to the rescue or to an adoption event and met Rio, fallen in love with him and decided that they want to adopt him. They talk to Anita or Jennifer, fill out the required paperwork, have their application processed and are ready for a home visit. Then the rescue will bring Rio to their home, make sure he is OK with whatever other pets are in the home and make sure the home and the area are a good fit for the specific dog, in this case Rio, and if all goes well, they sometimes do the adoption right then and there. Well that is what has happened. A FABULOUS couple, Christine & Tyson, drove up from the shore last weekend to meet Rio at Petco. They were originally looking at him and another dog but they have a cat, so Rio was the only choice since he absolutely LOVES cats. They met him, they spent over an hour with him, and they were ready to take him home then! So they set up to do the home visit today, a week is a long time, but people have to work and its a distance to drive and the rescue likes to make sure that everyone REALLY wants this to happen. That the people/family REALLY want to adopt a dog, THIS dog, so that no one changes their minds, where the dog has already been placed in their home and now has to be shuffled around again, could lose their foster home and have to go into boarding. If that happens...ONLY THE DOG SUFFERS.
I respect that the dog's best interest is what truly matters.

Well nobody has changed their minds!  Rio is getting picked up by Auntie AZITA at 9am to go to a Lilo's Promise event and then Auntie ANITA will take him to his home visit at noon. I know that he is going to shine like a rock star when he gets there...also because I gave him a sparkling bath yesterday so he is so soft, smells so good, and is actually very shiny!! LOL. All kidding aside....I am so happy that they are ready to love Rio forever, make him the spoiled and loved boy he has always dreamed of being. Of course he is spoiled here but he will be even MORE spoiled as an only doggie...

Beautiful weather....

So today, my foster mom took Savannah & I to Blueberry Hill but we started getting real warm and panting, then we started to walk real slow so we only stayed for less than an hour but we got to come home and she put the kiddie pool out in the backyard so we could lie down in it and splash around. Savannah (the diva) didn't wanna go in, so I did and then I just ran around. Now we are napping but below are some cute photos from today :)

Blueberry Hill walk with foster mommy...

My foster mommy took me all by myself today for an hour long walk along a new path at Blueberry Hill. Of course the gunshots from the gun range nearby freaked me out a little bit but I did really well anyway...I met a jogging couple who said I was so handsome and pet my head, then I tried to jog off with them but foster ma said "we don't run" so I couldn't go (lol), then we met (twice...) a really nice lady with her new puppy, a SHar Pei/Bassett Hound mix....yes he was funny looking but very cute and I got a little too excited and stepped on FM's foot so we decided not to stay and say hi too long, I didn't mean it but I think it hurt her...ooops. Anyway it was a fun walk. We also saw some ATV'ers who said hi to us and moved out of the way so we can run down the steps from the top of the hill. That was nice. I had a lot of fun, now I'm gonna nap until Savannah gets home from Precious Pets Dog E Day Camp...

Here are some pics of me...and FM added a link to a video of me on FB (hope it works)...

Super Rio! I was a REALLY good boy today!!

Vintage Rio

So today Rio went to Petco in Cherry Hill again with Auntie Azita and was a VERY good boy! He had a very nice couple come up from Cape May to meet him and hopefully they will want to adopt him and make him their #1 :) They have a cat which is such good news for Rio because he absolutely LOVES kitty cats. He sleeps with Bianca here almost every night.
I mean really, just look at them.....he loves her. I took Savannah over to Precious Pets in Somerdale (our very favorite pet feed & treat store and now new day camp) and picked up some new bones and treats for them. Rio got a new dried "duck foot" treat, it is hypo allergenic and rather inexpensive at under $1.00!! He LOVED it!  I put a pic below of him eating it.  He also got to be SuperRio today!!! Auntie Azita put a superman cape on him! How absolutely adorable is that???  I (again) posted some pics below of him...as SuperRio!

I have some links and some new pictures again...to add of him. Please check out Rio's very own facebook page at "Adopt Rio" and watch a very cute photo video I made of Rio at "Watch Me"....
Rio says "My foster mommy made some very cool pictures of me that you can see below but I also have a whole album of pictures on Facebook that you can find on my facebook page.... "

He was really good today, made a great impression on people and we are optimistic that he will soon find his very own family to love and that will love him forever and ever! He deserves it, he is such a fabulous dog, he gets very attached to anyone who shows him REAL love, and all he wants to do is be with his people. He can play, relax, walk, run, sleep or kiss you from head to toe. What more can you ask for, other than to have someone (dog) that is ALWAYS happy to see you when you come through the door, always greets you with tail wags and kisses, and will lie across your lap to watch TV or sleep at night....I can't think of anything else I would rather have. Rio is the whole package, he is beautiful, loving and well behaved. And he LOVES cats to boot!

Rio went to "Yappy Hour"

So today Savannah got to go to camp with some of her friends, so I stayed home with my foster mom. We had so much stuff planned to do but it rained all day so it pooped our plans. But I was a really good boy anyway....I took a ride in the car with her and then we slept most of the afternoon. Then I went to "Yappy Hour" at Bow Wow Meow in Sicklerville, a really cute little pet boutique, to show myself off and I was really good there too!!!
It is raining again today so I have no idea what we all have planned but I hope something, I have a feeling my foster mom may try to walk us through Petco....oh boy. What a treat for her LOL. Savannah & I will both stop at every bone and toy and cry "I want this one I want this one" ...hee hee hee....
Be back later!! Here are some cute pics of me though since I've been away for a few days....

I was such a good boy in the car!!!

This was on Tuesday when I got back to my foster home...

Blueberry Hill Part Two

So today my foster mom took me to go meet Aunt Jenn, Jackson & Molly at Blueberry Hill which is a big deal cause its the first time I got to go with other dogs (sort of...I went once with too many and I didn't behave very well lol) but today I was a perfect angel!

We went and I was so well behaved when meeting them both, when walking side by side with them, and even when Good Golly Miss Molly was nipping at my face...I didn't even react! We walked for about 90 minutes and I had to keep lying down because I was so pooped. But I gotta saw I had THE BEST TIME EVER!~

Here's a pic of me with Jackson & Molly:

Then after I got home and hung out in the backyard with my foster sister, Savannah, sunbathing. It was such a beautiful day today and I enjoyed it thoroughly!!!

Thanks Foster Mommy! <3

Blueberry Hill

So I took Rio over to Blueberry Hill today to walk the trails etc. He had so much fun!!! He is always on a 4 ft. leash but since we went by ourselves and no one else was there I brought a retractable leash with us so he could sniff around and run ahead of me a little bit. WOW. He had so much fun! He got to sniff everything, run around, he stayed real close anyway but had some extra give on the leash. A guy was walking back there and Rio even stopped to say hi and let the man pet him on his way out.

The first picture is us on the trails at Blueberry Hill and the next one is him after we got home, he is still sleeping now!

He also got a nice morning visit from Azita today and got to play outside and get some love from her this morning! Savannah is at camp today so it's just Rio & I...

Rio Rio Rio love love love

Rio is doing super fabulous the last few days. I took him and Savannah for a long walk today, angels. They played in the backyard, angels. They fence played with my neighbors two mini pups, angels. Rio is such a great dog and just need s the right people to meet him and see his potential! He only wants to be loved and will then do anything you ask of him. He now sits before even being asked when he gets a treat, or gets his food bowl, or goes to the back door he sits before the door will be opened. And he knows all of these things, I don't have to tell him anymore.

He is fabulous and I hope so much that someone will recognize how special he is!!

All these pictures are pf Rio (the chocolate mousse colored pup and my Savannah (the black and white girl) they are doing so well. It took Rio about 2 weeks to settle in & settle down, so if his new family would be patient enough to get through 2 weeks if they have another dog, it is worth every day. If there is no other dog, then he will fit right in.

Rio may never be a "dog park/doggie day care" kind of dog, but that is OK! He doesn't have to be, not all dogs are dog park dogs. He gets a little overwhelmed with so many new dogs he loses his manners so one on ones are good and in a controlled environment would be best. It isn't that he dislikes other dogs, he likes them, he just gets overstimulated with too many at once. As long as people respect that line not getting crossed he is an amazing dog and a great family pet! He loves to go hiking, walking, jogging, and playing in the yard. He absolutely LOVES to chase and catch his somewhat deflated basketball and carry it back to you after you kick it!

He loved getting a bath and was so good for it:

He has made his peace with Bianca, my cat and even sleeps with her at night on the couch now, sans crate!:

He loves Azita, who took him to Petco for me last weekend!:

He is doing amazing and has really blossomed, all he requires is a steady routine, steady exercise and STEADY LOVE & ATTENTION and he will pay you back in spades!!!

Please share this album of photos to anyone you know looking for the dog of their dreams...RIO

Album of Rio pictures

Rio, getting better every day

Don't get me wrong, Rio is doing a fabulous job but it has taken him a couple weeks to settle in & settle down but he absolutely has done that. He loves playing with Savannah, occasionally chasing Bianca (but only to play) and playing with his basketball.

The basketball seems to be his favorite thing in the backyard. He loves having "zoomies" around the yard and basically if YOU are outside he will stay out there all day.

He is without a doubt a "people" dog. He loves his people. Anyone that shows Rio love will be tops in his book.

He has graduated from sleeping in the crate to sleeping on the couch and once he lies down with the lights off and knows it is time for bed he stays there all night (except to get a
drink).

I have a lot of videos I have to figure out how to upload because they just have so much fun playing together, I'll get on that so everyone can see what Rio is really like! Please share this blog and album (link below) with anyone you think is interested in adopting my foster boy, Rio!

Thanks!!  They can contact Lilo's Promise Animal Rescue or email Jennifer at lilospromise@live.com or Anita at lilospromise@hotmail.com :)

Petco Day

Rio on his way to Petco

Rio had a great day at the Cherry Hill Petco Adoption Day Event for Lilo's Promise. He was a very good boy. Very chill, relaxed and mellow. What a difference from 2 weeks ago. He just needed a little time to settle in and settle down. He now sits at the door before we go outside and sits before getting any treats and his meals. He is getting better at jumping up on people when meeting them and is doing great playing with Savannah.

He has slept on the couch the past few nights instead of in his crate, and he is doing a fabulous job with it. He wakes me up a little earlier then I'd like but is sleeping through the night.

He is a really good boy and really just needs a home & family of his very own that can give him all the love, attention and exercise that he deserves! He gets all of that here but he could use a little more exercise during the day!

He gets very attached to people that show him love and affection so he would be great with anyone! He is a total love bug!!

Here he is with Azita at Petco...he loves her!!

Rio is a good boy...

So today I came home from "work" very early and let the pups out to play. Its rainy & cold so I knew they wouldn't be out for long. However, I bought them a new tug toy and they decided it was warm enough to play LOL.

They had a BLAST. I had bought Rio a basketball yesterday which popped within 3 minutes, but seems to have reinflated itself :)

So now I am trying to figure out stuff to do to keep them both busy but outside isn't really an option so we'll have to see.

Yesterday I took Rio for his first bath...with me anyway...and he was a perfect angel!

He stayed like a good boy, let me lather him up, wash him off, and then use some conditioner too. He was not a fan of the dryer but most dogs aren't, which is why I brought two towels with me too!

Then we took a ride and between the sun coming the window, his short haired coat and the tushy warmers in the car, he dried off pretty quickly!

He has been so good. He goes into his crate at night, when I leave the house and at nap times with very little issue, he is completely housebroken and eats like a dream. He and Savannah have come to an understanding when playing and he responds to OFF very well. He has made his peace with Bianca and doesn't chase her at all anymore....they even lie on the couch together now.

At any rate, I just wanted to update his good days!

Please share with your friends to find Rio the perfect home to live in and be loved forever!!! <3

Rio is a silly boy...

Yesterday Camp Bow Wow in Cherry Hill held their annual Cupids & Canines event in honor of Valentine's Day. They had about 9 different shelters/rescues attending with adoptable dogs. Rio was one of the Lilo's Promise Animal Rescue Dogs that attended along with Aiden. Here is Rio in the play yard playing with his new favorite toy - The Best Ball - and thanks to our good friend and volunteer for Lilo's Promise, Azita Kay, he has his very own now!

Rio is available for adoption

Meet Rio! I am his foster momma...He is an approximately 2.5-3 year old chocolate pitbull mix and is about 45 lbs. He is good with other dogs, like my resident pitbull Savannah, but needs a proper introduction and some supervision when playing (AS ALL DOGS DO) and is actually very good with my cat, Bianca. He really likes people but when he gets excited he can be a little bit jumpy so slow introductions with children at this time. He thinks he is the size of a chihuahua so he means no harm but is a lot bigger then he thinks LOL...he is pretty good on the leash. When he walks with another dog he pulls a little to stay side by side, but when walking alone he is a loose leash walker. He loves to romp around in the yard but if you are inside and have chores to do he is quite content laying near a window or you, just put a Kong filled with peanut butter in front of him and you may even forget he is there. He does love to chase the vacuum cleaner, though :)

Rio, the distinguished gentleman

I will update Rio's blog daily so people can get to know him better and maybe he will find his forever home through this site~wouldn't that be a dream come true!
